congratulation的意思是祝贺，恭喜。是外国人经常用到并且提及的单词，名词congratulation的四点用法说明
1. 既可用可数名词，也可用作不可数名词。一般说来，表示抽象意义的“祝贺”时，为不可数名词。如：
She received a telegram of congratulations. 她收到一份祝贺电报。
It is a matter for congratulation. 这是一件可喜可贺的事。
He sent her a note of congratulation on her election victory. 她选举获胜，他就寄去了祝贺信。
但用作可数名词时，总是用复数形式，表示祝贺词。如：
They crowded round the player with congratulations. 他们围着那个运动员，向他祝贺。
Congratulations poured in from everywhere. 祝贺像潮水一样从四面八方涌来。
2. 表示因为某事而表示祝贺，其后接介词on，不用for。如：

3. 若要加强语气，其前可用deepest(衷心的)，heartiest / hearty / sincere(诚挚的)，warm / warmest(热烈的)等形容词修饰。如：

4. 在结婚典礼上，人们可以对新郎说Congratulations，但习惯上不对新娘说Congratulations。
