 　　Going to the Gym去健身房

　　Maria was a fairly skinny girl. Mike was of average weight as well. Lately, Maria had begun to notice her weight. It all started when Maria went to the restroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked down at her stomach and felt a little self-conscious on how it looked. She rubbed her belly with her hands and thought that it had grown a bit bigger. She needed a second opinion. "Mike! Can you please come to the restroom?" she called. Mike walked in after a few minutes with a can of soda in his hand. "What is it, Maria?" he asked.

　　玛丽亚是一个相当瘦小的女生，迈克的身材很均匀。最近，玛丽亚已经开始注意到她的体重。在她去洗手间的时候，她看着镜子中的自己，又低头看了看自己的肚子，总觉得看起来不自在。她用手揉了揉她的腹部，觉得它变大了一些。她需要另一个意见。“迈克！你能来厕所一下吗？”她呼唤着迈克。迈克几分钟就走到了厕所，手里还拿了瓶汽水。“怎么了，玛丽亚？”他问。

　　Maria turned her body towards him and lifted her shirt to reveal her stomach. "Be honest. Do you think I"ve gained weight?" she asked sincerely. Mike widened his eyes and hesitated to respond right away. Maria did like that he did. "Maria, you look perfectly fine to me," he said after a few seconds. Maria was not satisfied with his answer. "Why did you take so long to answer the question," Maria asked. Mike told her that the question had caught him off guard. Maria then told Mike of her concern about her weight.

　　玛丽亚转过身朝他撩起上衣露出她的肚子。“说实话，你觉得我胖了吗？”她真诚地问。迈克睁大了眼睛，毫不犹豫地像玛丽亚一样认真地立刻回答到。“玛丽亚，对我来说你很完美。”他几秒钟后说到。玛丽亚不满意他的回答。“你为什么要花这么长的时间来回答这个问题？”玛丽亚问。迈克告诉她，这个问题让他措手不及。然后玛丽亚告诉迈克这关系到她体重问题。

　　"Mike, I think we need to start going to gym to exercise," Maria said. Mike looked down at his body and realized that going to gym was perhaps not such a bad idea. "Alright, maybe we"re not in the best shape of our lives. But at least we"re happy," Mike said to Maria.

　　“迈克，我认为我们开始需要去健身房锻炼。”玛丽亚说。迈克低头看着自己的体型，觉得去健身房并不是一个坏主意。“好吧，也许我们没有世界上最好的身材，但至少我们是幸福的。”迈克对玛丽亚说。

　　Maria then lectured Mike on the importance of health and longevity. Mike agreed to start going to the gym after Maria"s lecture. The next day, Mike and Maria left bright and early to the gym to buy a membership. They entered the gym and were greeted by a personal trainer.

　　然后玛丽亚对迈克说了一些关于健康长寿的重要性，迈克才开始同意在她演讲后去健身房。一天，迈克和玛丽亚一大早就去健身房办会员。他们走进健身房，一位私人教练很欢迎他们。
